Japan's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant Unit 6 Generator Experiences Electrical Leakage

People’s Financial News, March 13 — According to Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the No. 6 unit of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant, which is currently in trial operation, triggered an alarm on the afternoon of the 12th local time, indicating a minor leakage in the generator. TEPCO decided to halt power generation and transmission from this unit on the 13th to inspect the situation. According to TEPCO, no abnormalities were found in the reactor, and it is still operating normally without safety issues. Additionally, TEPCO stated that it will assess whether the situation will affect the plan to start commercial operation of the unit on the 18th of this month. (CCTV News)
