Xcel Energy to power new Google data center in Minnesota

Xcel Energy announced it will power a new Google data center in Pine Island, Minnesota, featuring 1,900 MW of new carbon-free power generation, including the world’s largest 100-hour iron-air battery system. Google will cover all infrastructure and service costs, ensuring no negative impact on current Xcel Energy customers’ rates or reliability, and contributing to Minnesota’s clean energy goals. This partnership is expected to drive significant economic investment and enhance grid reliability.
