# How to Reward Your Child Correctly?

Let me share a reward method with you — the advance reward system.

Other parents' reward methods are typically: If you score in the top XXX rank, I'll buy you XXX.

My parents were different—much harsher. I wanted a PlayStation gaming console. They simply bought it for me directly, let me play for a week, and then confiscated it. They told me: If you make the top five in your class at the midterm exam, this gaming console will be yours. Otherwise, I'm giving it to your cousin.

You have no idea how hard I worked to keep that gaming console.

Here's the thing: when you chase after something you don't have, your mindset is passive—if I succeed, great; if I fail, no big loss.

But when you're protecting something you already own, that's when you discover what it truly means to give your absolute all.
