In February, the new energy passenger vehicle market performed strongly, with domestic brands such as BYD, Geely, and Chery maintaining their leading positions. The number of brands with new energy wholesale sales exceeding 10,000 units has increased to 16, accounting for 90.9%. BYD and Geely also performed outstandingly in retail sales.

In February, the overall performance of new energy passenger vehicle companies was strong, with BYD’s pure electric and plug-in hybrid models solidifying its leading position among domestic brands in new energy vehicles; represented by BYD, Geely, Chery, and others, the narrow-sense plug-in hybrid segment continued to perform well.

On March 12, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in February, the overall trend of new energy passenger vehicle companies remained strong, with BYD’s dual drive of pure electric and plug-in hybrid models consolidating its leading position among domestic brands in new energy vehicles; represented by BYD, Geely, Chery, and others, the narrow-sense plug-in hybrid segment continued to perform well. In terms of product launches, as domestic automakers implement a “multi-line” strategy in the new energy sector, the market base continues to expand. Manufacturers with monthly wholesale sales of over 10,000 units reached 16 (up by 1 year-on-year, flat month-on-month), accounting for 90.9% of total new energy passenger vehicles (compared to 90.5% last month and 91.6% last year).

Among them, BYD (002594.SZ) with 187,782 units, Geely Auto (00175.HK) with 117,488 units, Tesla China with 58,599 units, Changan Automobile (000625.SZ) with 40,886 units, Chery Automobile (09973.HK) with 36,091 units, Leapmotor (09863.HK) with 28,067 units, SAIC-GM-Wuling with 26,874 units, Li Auto (LI.US) with 26,421 units, SAIC Passenger Vehicle with 21,962 units, Dongfeng Motor with 21,817 units, NIO (NIO.US) with 20,797 units, Xiaomi Auto with 20,414 units, Xpeng Motors (XPEV.US) with 15,256 units, Great Wall Motors (601633.SH) with 12,741 units, GAC Aion with 11,742 units, Seres (601127.SH) with 10,025 units.

Domestic new energy passenger vehicle brands with retail sales exceeding 20,000 units are: BYD with 88,697 units, Geely Auto with 76,636 units, Tesla China with 38,206 units, Changan Automobile with 28,220 units, Hongmeng Zhixing with 28,212 units, Li Auto with 26,421 units, NIO with 20,750 units, Xiaomi Auto with 20,414 units.
