On March 10, the National Internet Emergency Center issued a risk alert titled “Security Risks of OpenClaw Applications,” stating that earlier, due to improper installation and use of the OpenClaw agent, several serious security risks have emerged, including “prompt injection” risks, “misoperation” risks, plugin (skills) poisoning risks, and security vulnerabilities. It is recommended to implement security measures such as strengthening network control, enhancing credential management, strictly managing plugin sources, and continuously monitoring patches and security updates.

On March 11, the Suzhou Artificial Intelligence Industry Association issued a statement advocating for OpenClaw to move toward professional services, provided by specialized organizations for secure deployment, capability training, and trusted delivery, so that the agent can truly integrate into business processes and become a reliable productivity tool. Strictly enforce security baseline configurations and follow the principle of least privilege.
