March 15 evening news, CCTV’s 3.15 Gala exposed violations of speed limits by electric bicycles, with Hello Bike rental electric bikes being named.

According to CCTV reports, Hello Bike rental electric bikes are currently available in over 100 cities nationwide, with more than 5,000 stores. Staff at Hello Bike rental stores stated that their electric bikes can reach speeds of up to 75 km/h. Public information shows that the latest national standards for electric bicycle safety technology, implemented in 2025, clearly specify: the maximum design speed should not exceed 25 km/h, the battery pack label value should not exceed 48 volts, and the motor’s output power should be less than or equal to 400 watts.
