[Company Profile]

PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust was organized in Maryland on May 18, 2009, and began operations on August 4, 2009, after completing its initial public offering of common equity interests. The company is a specialized financial firm that, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, primarily invests in residential mortgage loans and mortgage-related assets. The company’s main investment goal is to maximize the value of its acquired mortgage loans, many of which may be distressed and purchased at a discount based on their unpaid principal balance, whether through loan modification programs, special servicing, or focusing on maintaining borrowers’ other measures at home or, when necessary, acquiring and liquidating collateralized loans. The company has two segments: Servicing and Investment Activities. The lending business focuses on the resale of newly originated mortgage loans and investing in acquired mortgage assets for investment purposes.
