IT House, March 13 — According to the Financial Times, Oracle has increased its full-year restructuring expense budget to $2.1 billion in its quarterly earnings report released on March 11, up from an additional $500 million compared to previous plans. As of the end of February, approximately $982 million of this budget has been used, suggesting that Oracle will carry out large-scale layoffs in this fiscal quarter.

IT House has learned that Oracle’s $2.1 billion restructuring expense budget this year is significantly higher than in previous years. Analysts believe that the new round of layoffs will be even larger than the 3,000-plus employees laid off during August-September 2025.

Oracle stated that AI “atmosphere programming” tools enable the company to reduce the number of developers, allowing more software to be built in less time with fewer personnel. Bloomberg previously reported that Oracle will carry out layoffs involving thousands of employees.
