“Mainland Visitor” New Definition Implemented This Year

The Executive Director (Long-term Business) of the Insurance Authority, Lu Yuk-kuo, stated that last year’s development of the local life insurance business was promising, with stable mainland visitor business. This year’s main goal is to explore other markets, including Southeast Asia and even the Middle East. He expects the authority to introduce new guidelines this year to implement the new definition of “Mainland Visitor,” while also collecting data on non-local and non-mainland visitors (other visitors). The relevant guidelines are expected to be released within the year.
