Pope Francis said during a prayer at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City on Sunday that the people of the Middle East have been suffering from brutal violence for the past two weeks. The war has caused the deaths of thousands of civilians and brought suffering to the entire region, calling for an immediate ceasefire.

The Pope admitted that violence will not bring justice, stability, and peace to the people of the region. The idea that war can solve problems is utterly absurd, and he condemned those who justify killing in the name of God.

Additionally, the Pope specifically mentioned the situation in Lebanon, pointing out that the country has been ravaged by the war between Israel and Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran, and expressed deep concern.
