Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) is planning to move its legal domicile to Texas from New Jersey, where it has been incorporated since 1882. This strategic shift, subject to shareholder approval, is designed to place the company in a more business-friendly environment and protect it from what CEO Darren Woods calls shareholder “abuse” or frivolous lawsuits.
