Wang Yi Meets with Vietnamese Foreign Minister to Deepen Strategic Mutual Trust
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Huy Hoang in Hanoi on Sunday (the 15th). Wang Yi stated that visiting Vietnam immediately after the conclusion of the National Two Sessions demonstrates the high level of China-Vietnam relations. It provides an opportunity to deeply discuss the coordinated development and security issues, clarify the important measures to follow the socialist path, and send a positive signal to the international community about China-Vietnam unity, mutual trust, and joint progress.
Wang Yi said that the two countries should deepen strategic mutual trust, strengthen strategic cooperation, promote development amid changing circumstances, safeguard security in times of crisis, enhance their respective national strategic resilience and development momentum, and use China-Vietnam cooperation’s stability to respond to external uncertainties.
Le Huy Hoang pointed out that the current international situation is complex and unpredictable. China and Vietnam share broad common interests and are both working to achieve their respective development goals. The two sides need to strengthen strategic communication, increase strategic mutual trust, and intensify strategic cooperation more than ever before. Vietnam firmly adheres to the One China policy and continues to support China’s stance on issues related to Xinjiang and Tibet.
