The second domestically-built large cruise ship completes its float-out from the dry dock
According to China State Shipbuilding Corporation, the second domestically produced large cruise ship, the “Ida Huacheng,” completed dock water filling today (14th) and successfully floated out.
After the cruise ship “Ida Huacheng” finished dock water filling and floated out, it was moved to the front dock chamber for tilt testing. Tilt testing is a key technical step in the ship’s launch process, used to determine the vessel’s weight and center of gravity, which are closely related to the cruise ship’s stability, safety, and passenger comfort.
It is reported that this launch operation will last seven days. Subsequently, rescue boat detachment tests and dockside patrols will be carried out to verify the performance of all 18 super-large lifeboats and 2 rescue small boats under normal and emergency conditions. The ship is scheduled to officially leave the dock on March 20, fully transitioning into system debugging and interior finishing. Trial sailing will begin at the end of May, with delivery expected before the end of the year.
