On March 20th, local time, Cuban President Diaz-Canel delivered a speech at a ceremony welcoming the international support fleet “Our Americas.” He accused the United States of “brutally” pressuring Latin American and Caribbean countries to isolate Cuba. Diaz-Canel said this will not succeed, as Cuba has received more international support. He stated that under U.S. pressure, some countries have severed diplomatic ties with Cuba. However, at the same time, Cuba has gained more support from the international community. On that day, the “Our Americas” fleet delivered about 20 tons of aid supplies, including food, medicine, and solar equipment, to Cuba. More international aid is arriving gradually.
