People’s Financial News, March 19 — The State Administration for Market Regulation released a notice on the 2025 nationwide recall of automobiles and consumer goods. In 2025, China conducted a total of 190 vehicle recalls, involving 6.846 million vehicles, down 18.5% and 39.1% respectively from the previous year. There were 105 recalls of new energy vehicles, involving 2.652 million vehicles, accounting for 38.7% of the total recalls for the year. Remote upgrade (OTA) recalls totaled 13, involving 1.756 million vehicles, making up 25.7% of the year’s total recalls. Influenced by the Market Regulation Administration’s supervision, 55 recalls were prompted, involving 2.934 million vehicles, representing 42.9% of the total recalls for the year. By the end of 2025, China had carried out a total of 3,265 vehicle recalls, involving 121 million vehicles.
