On March 13, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng delivered a speech at the U.S. session of the global dialogue titled “China in Spring: China’s Development and Global Opportunities,” emphasizing that China’s modernization with Chinese characteristics is marked by greater openness and sharing broad development opportunities with countries around the world.

Xie Feng stated that by 2025, despite a complex and severe external environment, China’s foreign trade will continue to grow against the trend, with significant results in diversification of exports, making China a major trading partner for more than 160 countries and regions worldwide. The negative list for foreign investment access in China continues to be reduced, and the Hainan Free Trade Port has officially launched full-island closed-loop operation. The China International Import Expo and the Chain Expo have seen continuous expansion in overseas participation areas and numbers. Choosing China means choosing opportunities; investing in China means investing in the future—this has become a widely recognized consensus in the international community. According to the 14th Five-Year Plan, China will continue to adhere to the principle of win-win cooperation, further expand high-level opening-up, focus on the service sector to broaden market access and open fields, and pilot further opening in areas such as value-added telecommunications, biotechnology, and wholly foreign-owned hospitals. The country will also orderly expand openness in the digital field, actively increase imports, and promote balanced trade development. It will expand two-way investment cooperation and ensure foreign-invested enterprises receive national treatment. For the world, China’s openness is not a “Black Friday” style limited-time promotion but a long-term, stable, and ever-expanding win-win opportunity.
