Regulatory Sandbox X | Chan Mei-po: Industry Response is Enthusiastic, Low-Altitude Economy Opportunities Abound
The Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Ms. Chen Mei-po, stated on her blog that the “Development of Low-Altitude Economy Working Group” launched an advanced version of the Low-Altitude Economy “Regulatory Sandbox X” at the end of last year, expanding the scope of innovative trials to include applications with higher technical complexity.
Over 100 Applications Received; Pilot Testing to Begin in the First Half of the Year
Ms. Chen pointed out that applications for “Regulatory Sandbox X” closed in February this year, and the industry responded enthusiastically, with more than 100 applications received across various application scenarios. The working group is currently reviewing these applications in detail, aiming to gradually launch pilot projects for testing starting in the first half of this year. Additionally, since the launch of the original “Regulatory Sandbox” last year, about 20 projects have entered ongoing and scaled operations. The development of the low-altitude economy will create opportunities for talents across different fields.
She emphasized that this year will be a crucial year for transforming various innovative transportation technologies from experimental stages into industries. Many innovative transportation technologies are expected to move from experimental scenarios into daily life this year, ultimately “landing” and driving the future development of the industry.
