People’s Financial News, March 19 — A survey released on the 18th by Randstad Group, a globally renowned human resources service provider based in the Netherlands, shows that with the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers worldwide, the demand for traditional skilled workers such as electricians and plumbers has surged, leading to a serious shortage of technicians globally. From 2022 to 2026, the demand for robotics technicians worldwide is expected to grow by 107%. The CEO of Randstad Group stated that the true limiting factor for global technological growth is not just shortages of chips, energy, or capital, but a severe lack of specialized technical talent needed to build related hardware, as AI cannot “self-assemble” data centers. Due to high demand, wages for skilled technical workers have increased. The survey shows that over the past four years, the starting salaries for HVAC engineers have increased by approximately 10% to 15%, and after entering the data center field, salaries for professional technicians have generally risen by 25% to 30%.
