FedEx plans to close nine facilities in New York and one in Pennsylvania as part of its Network 2.0 consolidation program, aiming to integrate express and ground operations into a unified surface network. This initiative is designed to optimize its terminal footprint, reduce excess capacity, and streamline pickups and deliveries, ultimately cutting costs and improving service. The company expects to optimize over 900 stations and close more than 475 locations by the end of 2027, representing a 30% reduction in its national facility footprint.
