A raffle is a mechanism that projects use to conduct a draw for NFT tokens among interested users. A raffle is essentially a lottery where lucky winners are determined randomly.

On specialized raffle platforms, participants get a chance to win a spot on the (whitelist), which gives them the opportunity to gain early access to NFT minting or subsequently purchase the asset on a marketplace. In terms of functionality, such platforms resemble well-known IDO and ICO platforms like DAO Maker or CoinList, but they are specifically focused on NFT projects.

The essence of a raffle is that it's a fair and transparent way to distribute access to promising projects. Instead of direct sales or closed access, projects use raffles to attract community members and provide equal opportunities to all participants.
