Mainland China “Jiemian News” reports that Alibaba (09988)'s research institute DAMO Academy may release an important chip product tomorrow, possibly directly addressing the surge in AI Agent computing power demands this year.

Public information shows that DAMO Academy will hold the annual 2026 Xuantie RISC-V Ecosystem Conference in Shanghai tomorrow, where it previously launched the industry’s first server-grade RISC-V CPU last year.

Alibaba CEO Daniel Zhang previously stated during an earnings call that the group’s AI strategy has a “5-year commercial goal,” including MaaS (Model as a Service), with annual revenue from cloud and AI commercialization expected to surpass $100 billion in the next five years. The semiconductor subsidiary “Pingtouge” has already reached a billion-dollar annual revenue scale, and the production capacity for high-quality AI chips is expected to continue expanding from 2026 to 2027, providing sufficient computing power for the group’s AI business.
