Sina Tech reported on the morning of March 23 that recently, Shenzhen DJI Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “DJI”) officially filed a lawsuit against Ying Shi Innovation in the Intermediate People’s Court of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, involving six patent ownership disputes. Several former core R&D personnel of DJI are accused of participating. Currently, the case has been officially filed.

It is understood that this is DJI’s first patent ownership dispute filed domestically. DJI alleges that the patents involved mainly focus on key technologies such as drone flight control, structural design, and image processing. In the complaint, DJI pointed out that the patents in question were inventions made within one year after former employees left, and these inventions are closely related to the work tasks they performed while employed at DJI.

According to sources familiar with the matter, in two patents related to drone flight control and structural design, Ying Shi Innovation listed some inventors as “requesting not to disclose names” in their application documents in China. However, in the corresponding international patent applications, all inventors’ real names are listed. The individuals who chose not to disclose their names are former core R&D personnel of DJI, who deeply participated in the technical development of key drone projects during their employment and possess the core technical system.
