On the morning of March 20th, the groundbreaking ceremony for Guangdong Hongtu Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Guangdong Hongtu”)’s investment in the Guangdong Hongtu (Wuhan) Large-Scale Integrated Lightweight Automotive Parts Intelligent Manufacturing Project (referred to as “Guangdong Hongtu Wuhan Phase II Project”) was held in Jinkang New District, Jiangxia District, Wuhan, Hubei Province. The groundbreaking of the Phase II project marks a new milestone in Guangdong Hongtu’s strategic layout in Central China and will inject new momentum into Wuhan’s development of a “Global Car Valley.”

It is understood that the Guangdong Hongtu Wuhan Phase II Project has a total investment of 588 million yuan, mainly constructing die-casting workshops, CNC workshops, comprehensive office buildings, and supporting facilities. The total land area is 26,600 square meters, with a total construction area of 34,600 square meters. The project focuses on the research and manufacturing of precision aluminum alloy die-castings, with products covering both traditional and new energy vehicle fields. Once completed and operational, it will form a large-scale, intelligent, and lightweight high-end component manufacturing capability.

Liu Weidong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guangdong Hongtu, expressed his gratitude at the groundbreaking ceremony for the long-term support from the Wuhan municipal government, Jiangxia District, and partners. He stated that Wuhan is an important strategic high ground for China’s automotive industry; launching the Phase II project is a key move to respond to the national “dual carbon” strategy and align with the development trend of “lightweight, intelligent, and integrated” in the automotive industry. It is also a strategic upgrade for the company’s deep cultivation in Central China and service to the entire country. The project will establish a modern intelligent factory, introduce ultra-large integrated die-casting equipment and core technologies, and bring core technologies such as ultra-large integrated die-casting and heat-free treatment materials to Wuhan. The Wuhan base will be developed into an important growth pole for nationwide operations, supporting Wuhan’s construction of a “Global Car Valley.”

It is reported that in 2013, Guangdong Hongtu established Guangdong Hongtu Wuhan Die-Casting Co., Ltd. (“Wuhan Hongtu”) in Wuhan. The Phase I project was launched in 2014 and put into production in 2018. Over the years, it has rooted itself in the Central China market, serving major domestic automakers, and achieving a synergy between corporate development and regional industry growth. The launch of the Phase II project will further address the shortage of core new energy vehicle parts supporting facilities in Central China, providing regional vehicle manufacturers with more efficient, precise, and competitive lightweight component solutions.

Currently, the global automotive industry is accelerating its transformation toward electrification, intelligence, and lightweighting. The implementation of Guangdong Hongtu Wuhan Phase II Project will drive regional automotive industry upgrades through cutting-edge technological innovation and help Wuhan build a trillion-yuan automotive industry cluster.
