Central Bank: Continuously Advancing the Construction of the Rule of Law State Treasury and National Treasury Engineering

The People’s Bank of China held the 2026 National Treasury Work Conference. The meeting emphasized that in 2026, treasury work should focus on “strengthening internal controls, building systems, and ensuring implementation” as the main themes. It highlighted political guidance, emphasized strengthening foundations, and coordinated the handling of development and security, service and supervision, overall and local issues, business management and personnel management, as well as the relationship between breaking through and establishing in business development. The conference also called for continuous promotion of the rule of law in the national treasury and the construction of the national gold reserve project, further enhancing institutional execution, system robustness, and management standards. It aims to continuously improve the capacity of treasury managers to fulfill their duties and strive to create a new chapter in the development of a modern treasury system.
