Recently, Shanghai Electric and China General Nuclear New Energy’s subsidiary project company officially signed a supply contract, which will provide four sets of gas turbines and all main equipment for combined cycle power projects located in Lishu and Changling, Jilin. This signing not only marks a new beginning for cooperation in the gas power sector but also signifies Shanghai Electric’s first entry into the Jilin market, further strengthening its energy layout in Northeast China.

The project adopts a “gas turbine + new energy” model, aiming to effectively supplement power shortages and enhance system peak regulation capacity. As a traditional energy base, Northeast China is continuously promoting energy structure optimization and green transformation. The implementation of this project will help alleviate seasonal and time-specific power shortages and provide important support for high proportions of renewable energy integration, demonstrating significant regional demonstration value.

As the only domestic enterprise in the heavy-duty gas turbine field with mature full lifecycle supply and service capabilities, Shanghai Electric emphasizes “independent innovation” and “customization” in this cooperation. To meet the extreme winter cold climate and high-frequency peak regulation demands in Jilin, Shanghai Electric has provided customized technical solutions, showcasing the flexibility, adaptability, and reliability of its equipment. Additionally, with localized supply and service industry chains, Shanghai Electric will ensure reliable delivery and commissioning for China General Nuclear New Energy, along with comprehensive lifecycle autonomous services.

As China’s energy transition deepens, the coordinated development of gas power and renewable energy, along with the自主化 of heavy-duty gas turbines and localized operation and maintenance services, will become key trends in industry evolution. This cooperation is a practical reflection of these trends, and the operational results and technological accumulation from this project will provide valuable industry references.
