NATO bombing of Yugoslavia 27 years ago: Serbia holds memorial activities to mourn victims

On the evening of March 24th local time, a national memorial event commemorating the victims of NATO’s 1999 bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was held in front of the National Museum in Vranje, southern Serbia. Serbian President Vučić, Prime Minister Maček, Kosovo Office Director Petković, Serbian Army Chief of Staff Mojsilović, and thousands of citizens attended the event. At the start of the event, an air raid siren sounded, followed by the playing of Serbia’s national anthem, “God of Justice.” Attendees observed a one-minute silence for those who lost their lives in the NATO bombing.
