Rolls-Royce Responds to Cancellation of Pure Electric Plan: Affected by Global Policy, But Still Committed to Electrification

On March 23, in response to the news that Rolls-Royce has canceled its plan to become a fully electric brand by 2030, Rolls-Royce China told reporters that the company’s plan to continue launching electrified models remains unchanged, and electrification is still the direction of the brand’s development. Due to changes in policies and regulations worldwide, the lifecycle of Rolls-Royce’s V12 engine will be extended into the next decade. Rolls-Royce China stated that recent policy adjustments mean the company will not be mandatorily stopping V12 engine production by 2030. However, during development, the electrified Rolls-Royce Spectre has demonstrated better quietness, power performance, and driving experience, and its commercialization has also achieved some success.
