On the afternoon of March 19, it was announced that on March 20, Country Garden will be officially included in the FTSE Russell Global Equity Index Series, becoming the only new real estate stock in this adjustment.

Within a month, Country Garden has been included in two major global indices. On February 27, the MSCI index adjustment took effect, with 21 new small-cap Chinese stocks added and 11 removed. Country Garden was the only new real estate stock added during this adjustment.

Analysts point out that the most direct impact of index inclusion is the guaranteed influx of passive funds. FTSE and MSCI indices are benchmarks tracking trillions of dollars in global assets. Inclusion in these indices means that global passive funds tracking them must buy Country Garden’s stock according to its weight, creating stable incremental buying pressure.
