US Congressman Says Rejecting Additional Military Spending Can End War

People’s Financial News, March 23 — Regarding the Pentagon’s plan to request over $200 billion in additional war funding from Congress, Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Murphy explicitly opposed the move during a broadcast of NBC on March 22 local time. He said that the current administration has “completely lost touch with reality, and this war is spiraling out of control.” Murphy also criticized U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s statement that “sometimes you have to escalate the situation before de-escalating,” calling the remark “chilling” and saying it was as if she had never read a history book.
