Abstract generation in progress

If the word about recalls at legacy automaker Ford F +0.77% ▲ is starting to seem like it is all running together, do not worry, as you are not alone. But another recall did land for Ford, and over 250,000 vehicles were impacted. The good news, though, is that the recall should be easy to fix. This was cold comfort to investors, though, as shares slipped fractionally in the closing minutes of Tuesday’s trading.

The recall hit 254,640 SUVs total, elements of the 2025 Ford Explorer lineup as well as the 2022-2025 Lincoln Navigator line, the 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus line and the 2025 Lincoln Aviator line. The problem is an “unexpected reset” of the image processing software on the vehicles, which means that the rearview camera system could fail. This could also shut down advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring.

The good news here, though, is that the issue will likely be fixed by an upcoming over-the-air software update. That means the problem will either be fixed directly from that, or after you take your car back to the dealership once again for a manual update.

Ford Pro Shift South of the Border

Meanwhile, a new move emerged in Ford’s Ford Pro branch, the branch that handles fleet vehicles and other professional applications. Ford is merging the Ford Pro divisions of South America and Mexico together into a single division.

The move was done for several reasons, including “expand(ing) the synergy between those countries,” as well as facilitating services for logistics operations and building on product portfolios that have a lot in common. There is also the matter of likely cost savings for Ford and the removal of redundant staff, but Ford made no specific mention of such things.
