Ford Motor Co. is recalling 254,640 Lincoln and Explorer vehicles due to a software issue that can disrupt the rearview camera and other advanced driver assistance features. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated the image processing software could unexpectedly reset, leading to a loss of critical safety functions and increasing crash risk. Ford will offer free software updates at dealerships and over-the-air, with notification letters to affected owners being mailed on March 30.
