Coin World News: Collins purchased approximately 6,000 BTC between 2011 and 2012 using proceeds from selling marijuana, and dispersed the holdings across 12 wallets. The private keys were stored in paper form, hidden in a fishing rod box inside a rental property in Galway, Ireland. After Collins was arrested in 2017, the house was emptied and his personal belongings were sent to a landfill. Subsequently, both authorities and Collins himself believed the private keys were permanently lost, and the court ruled that the related assets would be forfeited as proceeds of crime. The recent on-chain transfer of 500 BTC suggests that this batch of assets may not have been completely lost after all.
