MIIT: Accelerate the Development of Industrial Data Standards, Foster and Strengthen Data Service Enterprises Such as Data Consulting, Data Governance, and Data Annotation

People’s Financial News, March 24 — The State Council Information Office held a press conference regarding the Ninth Digital China Construction Summit. Wang Yanqing, Director of the Information Technology Development Department at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at the meeting that this year’s launch of the Industrial Data Foundation Initiative aims to pilot high-quality industry data set construction. Wang Yanqing said, “Next, to ensure the success of the pilot work, we will continue to focus on three areas: First, strengthen support and guarantees. We will collaborate with local industry and information technology departments and data authorities to provide resource support and guidance for the pilot consortiums, promptly address issues encountered, gather experience, and accelerate the development of scalable results. Second, enhance policy guidance. We will promote the issuance of policy documents on data elements empowering new industrialization, distribute reference guidelines for industrial scenario data element applications, and strengthen development guidance and mode promotion. Third, cultivate a healthy ecosystem. We will accelerate the development of industrial data standards, grow data consulting, data governance, data annotation, and other data service companies, support the organization of technical seminars and supply-demand matchmaking events, and also strengthen and optimize open-source AI communities to create hubs of high-quality open-source data resources. Especially this year, at the upcoming summit, a dedicated session on data elements empowering new industrialization will be held, and a data element empowerment competition for new industrialization in 2026 will also be launched.”
