Quanzhou's textile and apparel exports reached 8.39 billion yuan in the first two months, with a year-on-year growth of 18.3%
According to Quanzhou Customs recently, in the first two months of this year, Quanzhou’s textile and apparel exports reached 8.39 billion yuan, an increase of 18.3% year-on-year, accounting for 31% of Quanzhou’s total exports during the same period. The growth rates are 3.2 percentage points higher than the national average and 10.8 percentage points higher than the provincial average. Among these, textile exports totaled 2.41 billion yuan, up 21.1%, while clothing and accessories exports reached 5.98 billion yuan, an increase of 17.3%.
The textile and apparel industry is a traditional advantageous industry in Quanzhou and the city’s largest export commodity. In recent years, Quanzhou’s textile and apparel industry has continuously enhanced its international competitiveness through brand development, globalization strategies, and smart and green transformation. Statistics show that in the first two months, exports to ASEAN, the European Union, and the United States were 2.05 billion yuan, 1.24 billion yuan, and 1.2 billion yuan respectively, with growth rates of 7.5%, 7.2%, and 33.9%. These three markets together account for 53.5% of total exports. Meanwhile, exports to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative reached 5.11 billion yuan, up 12.2% year-on-year, representing 60.9% of Quanzhou’s total textile and apparel exports during the same period. Private enterprises have become the main force in expanding international markets, with export value reaching 6.76 billion yuan, an increase of 22.6%, accounting for 80.6% of Quanzhou’s total textile and apparel exports during this period.
