Foreign reports indicate that Apple is testing a standalone Siri voice assistant app and a new feature called “Ask Siri,” which can be used across multiple software platforms. These developments are part of Apple’s major AI upgrade plan.

Sources reveal that Apple is completely redesigning Siri, giving it a new interface and conversational experience to make it more similar to modern chatbots. The project, codenamed “Campo,” is expected to be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 8 and will be a key feature of iOS 27 and macOS 27.

Ability to Access Personal Data for Commands

According to plans, the upgraded “Ask Siri” will more accurately control iPhone and Mac functions, and with user permission, access personal data such as messages, notes, and emails to execute commands more naturally. The new Siri can also perform actions within apps, view news content, and conduct web searches using Apple’s built-in models and interfaces.

One of the biggest changes is that “Ask Siri” will support bidirectional voice and text conversations, providing users with a more seamless, chat-like interaction experience. This shift marks a strategic turning point for Apple’s AI efforts, transitioning from a tool-based voice assistant to an intelligent conversational platform.

To support this transformation, Apple is also testing a Siri app that can run independently on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This app will not only compete with external AI tools but also serve as a centralized hub for users to view their interaction history with Siri. Market expectations suggest that this app could be officially launched later this year.

Sources indicate that after setbacks in the “Apple Intelligence” initiative, Apple is rebuilding its AI platform through a major overhaul of Siri. The company’s goal is to evolve Siri from a traditional voice assistant into a deeply integrated AI agent across applications and system levels.
