On the news front, recently, the Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition (OFC 2026) was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Leading fiber optic manufacturers like Corning and Changfei showcased new product lines including hollow-core fiber, multi-core fiber, and high-density connectors, which are expected to significantly enhance data center optical network density and scalability. Additionally, Jensen Huang recently stated at the GTC conference that there is at least a $1 trillion high-confidence demand from 2027 onwards. The boom in AI computing power demand is expected to continue at least until 2027, with a scale far exceeding expectations.
Wanlian Securities released a research report stating that, with the accelerated development of the AI ecosystem, the continuous explosion of agents, and the sustained high growth in AI computing power demand, optical communication has become a core part of AI infrastructure construction. Technologies such as optical modules and fiber optic cables will continue to innovate and iterate. Meanwhile, the emergence of multiple MSA alliances at OFC 2026 also reflects the increasing importance of interconnection technology as the global data scale of AI data centers continues to expand. New technologies like high-speed copper links, optical modules, and XPO are expected to keep emerging.
