Through a partnership with OpenAI, Siri can now access ChatGPT, but Apple will also allow integration with other competing products.

It is reported that Apple is developing new tools to enable AI chatbots installed via the App Store to integrate with Siri. These chatbots will also work alongside a new Siri app and other features within the Apple Intelligence platform.

Apple has long lagged behind its peers in AI, and this move aims to turn the tide. The major overhaul of Siri, which was first launched nearly 15 years ago, is at the core of this turnaround plan.

Recently, reports emerged that Apple is testing a standalone Siri voice assistant app and a new feature called “Ask Siri,” which can be used across multiple software applications. This project, codenamed “Campo,” is expected to be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 8.
