People’s Financial News, March 26 — On March 26, Liu Haixing, Director of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met with Todd Tansey, President of the U.S.-China Business Council, in Beijing. Liu Haixing stated that the current international situation is turbulent, with increased instability and uncertainty. China and the U.S. should demonstrate the responsibilities of major powers and work together to address global challenges. The business community is an important link and driving force in China-U.S. relations. China appreciates the long-term advocacy of the U.S.-China Business Council for cooperation with China and looks forward to the council helping to build more bridges for friendly exchanges between China and the U.S. This year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan. China will unswervingly expand high-level opening-up and welcomes American companies to share China’s development opportunities and achieve mutual benefits. Todd Tansey said that the U.S. business community is highly concerned about China’s development and is willing to continue deepening its presence in the Chinese market. The U.S.-China Business Council is committed to promoting economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and also hopes to contribute to people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding.
