U.S. stocks Nasdaq closes down 2.4%, more than a 10% decline from the all-time high

Everyday Economic News AI Express, on March 27th, the U.S. stock market’s three major indices closed sharply lower. The Nasdaq fell 2.38%, down more than 10% from its all-time high on October 29 of last year; the S&P 500 dropped 1.74%; and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 1.01%. Technology stocks broadly declined, with SanDisk down over 11%, Meta nearly 8% and posting its largest single-day drop since October 30 of last year, AMD and Western Digital down over 7%, Intel and Micron Technology down over 6%, Nvidia down over 3%, and Tesla down over 3%. Energy stocks rose, with ConocoPhillips up over 3%, ExxonMobil, Chevron, and BP up over 1%.
