Chongqing hosts a large spring job fair with over 240 manufacturing companies offering more than 10,000 positions to attract talent

On March 26, the “Yukui Jiu · Creating the Future” large-scale spring job fair for 2026 graduates of regular colleges and universities in Chongqing Yunchuan District was held at Chongqing Wenli University Honghe Campus. Unlike previous job fairs, this event invited 240 “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system companies to participate as a group, attracting nearly 10,000 students from six universities in Yunchuan District to seek employment.

In the morning, the event was bustling with activity. The 240 “33618” modern manufacturing cluster companies and 88 key enterprises from Sichuan and Chongqing regions offered over 13,000 positions to graduates.

In recent years, Chongqing has vigorously promoted the construction of the “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system. A number of high-tech industrial enterprises have achieved significant growth, and the booming development of related companies in the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle has increased the demand for talent.

Sichuan Mingtai Microelectronics Co., Ltd., which has branches in Neijiang and Suining, is currently the largest semiconductor packaging and testing enterprise in Southwest China, specializing in mobile phones, computers, new energy vehicles, and photovoltaic modules. The company’s HR manager, Yuan Song, said that over the past three years, the company has visited universities such as Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chongqing University of Technology, and Chongqing Wenli University to recruit talent. As the business expands this year, they plan to hire about 30 more technicians in process, equipment maintenance, and repair, with a bachelor’s degree sufficient. Relevant majors include information engineering, electronic electrical engineering, and intelligent manufacturing.

Regarding hiring conditions, Yuan Song explained that due to the special nature of packaging enterprises, night shifts and factory floor work are required, so they especially value whether graduates have a hardworking and resilient spirit. He also mentioned that whether graduates are interested in this industry and willing to work in it long-term are important factors for the company. Yuan Song said that the company conducts a semi-annual “theory + practical” job level assessment, and as long as recent graduates pass the assessment, they can achieve a monthly salary of over 10,000 yuan within 3 to 5 years.

Chongqing Hengtuo Automation Technology Co., Ltd., which has been rooted in Yunchuan for six years, plans to recruit about 15 sales engineers and mechanical assistant engineers. Chen Zhaoying, responsible for recruitment, said that as long as students reach employment intentions, they can earn over 6,000 yuan during their internship period. However, the interview process is not simple; they carefully inquire about students’ GPA, scholarship awards, and participation in college projects or faculty-led collaborations with enterprises during their four years in school.

“When students introduce the projects they participated in, we pay special attention to two aspects,” Chen Zhaoying said. “First, whether the projects are aligned with the company’s business development; second, whether the students played a leading role in these projects, and how much they contributed and participated.”

A relevant person from the Admissions and Employment Office of Chongqing Wenli University said that this job fair first set up a “33618” modern manufacturing enterprise zone, which not only demonstrates the good development trend of Chongqing’s manufacturing industry in recent years but also encourages graduates to stay in Sichuan and Chongqing for employment, serving the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle.

Since the start of the spring semester this year, Chongqing Wenli University has also launched a “Direct Employment Express” service. The school stated that by June this year, it plans to select more than 1,000 graduates from this year’s 6,400+ graduates who are interested in staying in Sichuan and Chongqing for employment, guiding them into enterprises and large job fairs to promote high-quality employment.
