During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the State Grid will commence construction of pumped storage with an installed capacity exceeding 30 million kilowatts.

A reporter learned from the State Grid that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the State Grid will accelerate the construction of pumped storage power stations, planning to start new pumped storage installations with a capacity of over 30 million kilowatts. By 2030, the operational and under-construction pumped storage capacity will exceed 120 million kilowatts, providing more than 150 million kilowatts of power regulation capability, an increase of over 70% compared to the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, fully ensuring the efficient consumption of new energy.
