Fed Chair Nominee Wosh Questioned by Senators on His Ability to Steer Policy Direction

According to a statement from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren’s office, Warren has expressed “concerns” to Federal Reserve Chairman nominee Kevin Warsh regarding his performance as a Fed governor before, during, and after the 2008 financial crisis. Warren has asked Warsh to respond to whether he “learned anything from that term of bailing out big banks.” Warren stated that Warsh’s performance before, during, and after the 2008 financial crisis raises “deep concerns” about his ability to guide policy direction as Federal Reserve Chairman. Warren has requested that Warsh provide a written response no later than April 2.
