On March 26, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, hosted a regular press conference. A reporter from Kyodo News asked if the Ministry could confirm that U.S. President Trump announced he would visit China from May 14 to 15 and meet with Chinese leaders in Beijing.

In response, Lin Jian stated, “The diplomatic relations between heads of state play an irreplaceable strategic guiding role in China-U.S. relations. The two sides are maintaining communication regarding President Trump’s visit to China.”
