U.S. officials: Third-party mediation has been ineffective; direct negotiations with Iran are necessary
U.S. officials have expressed concern about holding indirect negotiations with Iran through third parties, believing that direct talks would be more efficient. The official said that although Pakistan intends to help mediate the conflict, the U.S. has reservations about designating Islamabad as the negotiation venue, mainly due to security risks. The official also noted that previous mediation efforts carried out through Oman were not effective. (CCTV News)
