The Pi network has launched a new update to the mainnet protocol, but this release has caused some confusion within the network community. Project officials explained that they upgraded the protocol from version 20 to version 21.2 on April 6.
However, the public block explorer still shows version 20. This discrepancy has raised new questions about the current status of the network and the speed of its rollout.
Pi Network roadmap advances with version 21.2
The update is part of a broader technical roadmap. Its goal is to enhance network efficiency and the reliability of transaction verification, and to pave the way for upcoming smart contract functions.
This release also prepares to support the RPC protocol on the mainnet. These changes represent important steps ahead of the larger updates planned to be carried out later this month and in May.
The issue of the version has become the main point of contention, as some users rely on the block explorer that still displays data from older versions.
