Shanghai Metal Market: Shanghai Nickel declines, trading remains decent

Today, Shanghai nickel saw price fluctuations and edged lower, and short-term selling pressure continued to expand. Spot prices followed the trend with a slight increase; however, to complete trades quickly, some traders continued to sell with a relatively low premium. Overall, trading conditions are mixed—some report that shipments have surged, users have been restocking in large volumes, while others say there is a lack of buyers. Some views expect prices to remain mostly in a choppy and weak trend; only after the market stabilizes will market purchasing intentions be more likely to be triggered, and in the near term, market participants will likely continue to take a wait-and-see approach. Today, Jinchuan manufacturers, in line with market developments, lowered their ex-factory prices by 3,100 yuan per ton compared with the day before. (Shanghai Metals Market)
