The vice minister Yang Xiaowei, who was investigated in office, has been indicted! Recently, two "tigers" have been prosecuted, and one "tiger" has been sentenced to death with a reprieve.

According to the Supreme People’s Procuratorate on April 2, Yang Xiaowei, former Deputy Director of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Education, Science, Health, and Sports Committee, has been indicted.
Yang Xiaowei is accused of leveraging his positions as former Deputy General Manager of China United Communications Co., Ltd., Deputy General Manager and General Manager of China Telecom Group, Deputy Director of the National Radio and Television Administration, and Deputy Director of the 14th CPPCC Education, Science, Health, and Sports Committee, as well as the convenience provided by his authority or status, to seek benefits for others, illegally accepting others’ property, with a particularly large amount involved, and should be criminally prosecuted for bribery according to law.

Public information shows that Yang Xiaowei was born in September 1963, in Chongqing. He has served as Deputy Director of the National Radio and Television Administration and other positions. In 2023, he was appointed Deputy Director of the CPPCC Education, Science, Health, and Sports Committee. On April 17, 2025, he was investigated, and on November 10, he was expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office.
The announcement states that he condoned and tolerated relatives using his authority or influence from his position to seek personal gains; he has no bottom line of discipline and law, transforming public power into a tool for personal gain, amassing wealth through corruption, and using his official convenience to benefit others, illegally accepting huge amounts of property.
Just a few days ago, “tigers” Liu Kuanren and Wang Jianjun were also consecutively indicted. Among them, Liu Kuanren and Yang Xiaowei were both reported to have been disciplined on the same day, November 10 last year.
According to the Supreme People’s Procuratorate on April 1, Liu Kuanren, former Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and former Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial CPPCC, has been indicted. Liu Kuanren is accused of accepting bribes involving a particularly large amount; embezzling and fraudulently obtaining public property, with a particularly large amount involved, and should be criminally prosecuted for bribery and embezzlement according to law.

Public information shows that Liu Kuanren was born in October 1963 in Pucheng, Shaanxi. He served as Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture in February 2013, Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial CPPCC in 2018, and a standing member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party and head of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee.
In December 2022, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial CPPCC and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party, as well as head of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and was investigated last May. He was expelled from public office in November last year.
The announcement indicates that he violated regulations by accepting banquets; illegally accepting gifts; engaging in power-for-money transactions; using his official influence to seek benefits for others; and illegally accepting huge amounts of property; embezzling public funds for personal use.
According to the Supreme People’s Procuratorate on March 31, Wang Jianjun, former Party Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), has been indicted. Wang Jianjun is accused of accepting bribes involving a particularly large amount and should be criminally prosecuted for bribery.

Public information shows that Wang Jianjun was born in March 1968 in Langzhong, Sichuan. He has held various positions at the CSRC, including Deputy Director of the General Office, Deputy Director and Director of the Market Regulation Department, Director of the Research Center, and Director of the General Office.
In April 2016, he became General Manager of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and in February 2020, he was appointed Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. In October 2021, he was appointed a member of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the CSRC, and was investigated in April 2025.
In November 2025, Wang Jianjun was “double expelled” from the Party. The announcement states that he “relied on regulation to eat regulation,” engaged in power-for-money transactions, used his official influence to seek benefits for others in listing and financing, and illegally accepted huge amounts of property.
Yesterday, another “tiger” was sentenced to death with a reprieve in the first trial.
On April 1, it was announced that Kou Wei, former Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of China Datang Group, was sentenced to death with a reprieve in the first trial. The trial found that from 1996 to 2024, defendant Kou Wei accepted bribes totaling more than 154 million yuan.

Public information shows that Kou Wei was born in October 1961 in Jianchuan, Yunnan. In 2018, he served as Chairman and Party Secretary of State Grid Corporation of China. From January 2020 to May 2022, he was Director, General Manager, and Deputy
