🔥 Two U.S. Navy destroyers pass through the Strait of Hormuz, mine-clearing operations underway

On April 12, Reuters reported that the U.S. military said on Saturday that it has begun setting up conditions for clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz, and that two U.S. warships have passed through this important waterway. On the 11th, the U.S. Central Command posted a statement on social media saying that two U.S. missile destroyers are transiting the Strait of Hormuz, operating in the Persian Gulf, and that mine-clearing work in the Strait of Hormuz has already begun. U.S. Central Command Commander Brad Cooper said: “Today, we have initiated the process of opening a new route, and soon we will share this safe passage with the shipping industry to promote the free flow of trade.”
