I just found out that ZeroLend has shut down its protocol after three years of operation. The reasons are typical for DeFi — inactive blockchains and a couple of serious hacking attacks undermined trust. This again shows how fragile the ecosystem can be if it doesn't adapt to market changes and fails to provide basic security. I wonder how many more protocols will face similar problems when activity declines? It seems only those who can quickly evolve and invest in security will survive.
