Today in Shanghai Metal Market, spot prices are at 22,720-22,820 yuan/ton, with an average of 22,770 yuan/ton, down 380 yuan/ton from the previous trading day. The Shanghai zinc 2604 contract is trading at a discount of 180-80 yuan/ton. Last night, zinc prices continued to decline, and this morning the downward trend persisted. By the close of the morning session, the main Shanghai zinc contract fell by 495 yuan/ton, a decrease of 2.11%. Today’s spot market transactions are moderate, with the zinc price decline widening. Downstream purchasing sentiment has improved, leading to increased price negotiations. Holders gradually raised their quotes during the trading session, initially hearing about an average +50 yuan/ton for small quantities, with active periods seeing around +70 yuan/ton, and some quotes reaching +80 yuan/ton in the second period. Domestic prices followed the trend, reporting around -70 yuan/ton. (SHMET)
